BIOGRAPHY
Milanó is a London based singer songwriter and producer. A rising voice in the UK independent scene blending raw emotion with sharp sonic detail. Born in Ghana, roots in Rome, raised in the UK, she blooms with her music and continues to infuse afro-beat with R n B melodies to craft high energy soundscapes. She is also the founder of 'So Sound Records', an independent label focused on creative autonomy and culture-forward music. As both an artist and entrepreneur, Milanó is building her own lane — one rooted in emotion, energy, and self-determination. Her passion for music has always been evident since her early years in school up until present. After graduating from City of Westminister University in production and music, she has continued to consistently release music, and produce beats while using some of her inspirations to do so. She grew up listening loving 90's RnB groups like SWV, Destinys Child, Lauryn Hill, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Milano’s all time favourite artist is the late ‘Aaliyah’ Her more recent inspirations also include Rihanna and Tems. Milanó has previously written a 4 track R'n'B EP titled “Silhouette” released independently In June 2019 through her label So Sound Records. Her first music video release for track titled “OTL (On The Low)” from her “Silhouette” EP was released in March 2020 and added to Girls I rate “Baddest Female" Playlist on YouTube. This was followed by single "Major Feels" which was accompanied by a visualiser where she displays deep lyrical emotion. "Major Feels" was aired live on CitiTV in Ghana as well as her most recent release ’Show Dem’ being aired on 3 Music TV.
Milanó then introduced us to a fresh, afro-fusion sound with her single "Elevate". Elevate had over 50k streams on Spotify. She continues to release music consistently, and accompanies this with professional visuals. She dropped another fresh afro-pop summer classic titled “No Better Luv” which she released in June 2022. No Better Luv was added to Unorthodox Reviews Top 10 Artist to watch list as well as play-listed on numerous occasions with Spotify’s release radar being just one. She has also been nominated as artist of the year and vocalist of the year by Star Glow Excellence Awards and OSFAS Africa in 2024 as well as rated top 20k singer songwriters in the world by chart metrics.
As Milanó aligns with her roots, she continues to innovate and released one for the dance floors “Show Dem” in 2023. A buzzing Amapiano track oozing with energy. Milanó speaks her native language 'Ga' and 'Twi' and states she intends to do this more in her music. “Show Dem” was also featured on Ghana Web as another single to keep an eye on. Milanó is turning tables with her love for songwriting and producing. She released Breathe in October 2024 a heartfelt afro- rnb song with a sensual rhythm. It was played on Dj Firestars set on Play-kiss Extra radio in June 2025.
